The former Growing Pains star appeared on Piers Morgan Tonight, where he said that homosexuality is unnatural.
"I think that it's detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization," Cameron maintained during the interview.
Kirk Cameron became a born-again Christian after his successful career as teen heartthrob on Growing Pains. He has since acted in religious movies like the 2008 film Fireproof.
Herndon Graddick, GLAAD's senior director of programmes, told TMZ that he believes Cameron is "out of step with a vast majority of Americans, particularly people of faith who believe that their gay and lesbian brothers and sisters should be loved and accepted based on their character and not condemned because of their sexual orientation".
In January 2011, Cameron also said in an interview with Anderson Cooper that America was a morally sinking ship.
GLAAD will reportedly be keeping an eye on plan on Cameron's media bookings and various acting gigs to ensure "the news and entertainment industry is aware of his outrageous anti-gay views". The organisation spoke out last year against Brett Ratner after his homophobic slur during an Oscars rehearsal. He has since apologised and will be directing a GLAAD campaign this year.
