John Bishop has undergone an MRI scan following fears that he may have lasting injuries from his Sport Relief triathlon.

The comedian completed his 290-mile 'week of hell' on Friday (March 2), raising over £1.5m for the charity with donations continuing to be made on the Sport Relief website.

Bishop claimed to be "in a lot of pain" after finishing the challenge, but there was particular concern that he could have sustained a stress fracture in his leg.

"He is in a lot of pain and had an MRI scan to make sure the damage isn't permanent," a source told The Sun.

Bishop took to Twitter yesterday to reveal the results, writing: "Good news no fracture just severe tissue damage to the shin.

"Got to wear RoboCop boot for a few days and no dancing - sensible advice."

The 45-year-old added that his children had noticed the injury, describing him as having "granny feet".
