Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay was arrested in London for allegedly assaulting members of the paparazzi.
The band's frontman was escorted away by police after the incident, in which he is said to have punched one photographer three times and slapped another.
"He was out of control, really lairy," one witness said: "He clearly had too much to drink and just wouldn't stop."
As the police became involved, Jay Kay reportedly turned his attention: "He rounded on them as well, yelling, 'I pay your wages'," a second witness said. "One policeman said, 'well, everyone here pays our wages' and Jay Kay just came back with some nonsense, like, 'you all live in poverty you miserable f***ers'."
