A friend and radio colleague of Russell Brand has been charged with the alleged rape of a woman in Edinburgh last month.
The woman attended a party thrown by the comedian after his shows at the Edinburgh festival, and reported that she had been drugged and raped at the event.
Both Brand and friend Trevor Lock were questioned in connection with the incident, as were all the male guests at the party. However it was Lock who was arrested and charged two days later.
A police spokesman confirmed: "A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an incident in a flat in North Castle Street, Edinburgh on 28 August."
Lock co-hosts a BBC6 radio show with Brand.
