According to TMZ, the 19-year-old, who will inherit her late mother Whitney Houston's entire estate, told friends that she will become 'Kristina Houston'.
The report claimed that Bobbi Kristina first pushed to change her name six years ago when her parents separated, but that her mother stopped it.
Bobbi Kristina, who was hospitalised for "stress and anxiety" the day after Houston's death last month, was said to be upset that her father left his ex-wife's funeral following a disagreement over seating arrangements.
In her will, signed in 2000 while she was still married to Brown, Houston gave all of her money, cars, furniture, clothing, jewellery and personal effects to her daughter.
Bobbi Kristina, sister-in-law Patricia Houston and brother Gary will talk about the star's death for the first time in a special edition of Oprah's Next Chapter, airing on the OWN network today (March 11).
