Whitney Houston has started divorce proceedings from husband Bobby Brown.
The two singers have been married for 14 years, during which they have separately and jointly hit the tabloid headlines on numerous occasions.
Houston's publicist Nancy Seltzer confirmed that she had filed for divorce, but declined to comment any further. The main area of ambiguouty concerns custody of the couple's daughter, 13-year-old Bobbi Kristina.
