Sharon Osbourne denies having Leah Remini fired from 'The Talk'

By
Sharon Osbourne has denied that she personally asked for Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete to be fired from The Talk.

Remini and Peete were among the original hosts of The Talk with Osbourne, Sara Gilbert and Julie Chen, but they were not asked back for the second season.

Peete complained last fall that she didn't understand why she had been fired, but Remini put the blame solely on Osbourne in a series of Twitter posts this week.

Remini tweeted: "Sharon thought me and Holly were 'Ghetto', (her words) we were not funny, awkward and didn't know ourselves… Sharon said she asked 4 us to be fired [on The Howard Stern Show]."

Osbourne replied to Remini's accusations on her own Twitter account by insisting that she had no role in the actress's departure from The Talk.

"I had absolutely nothing to do w her departure from the show & have no idea why she continues to take to Twitter to spread this false gossip," Osbourne wrote. "Leah knows that I have never been in the position to hire or fire anyone on the show. That being said, my only wish is that Leah would just stop all this negative, unprofessional, and childish behaviour."

Osbourne added: "It's been seven months. It's time to move on. Leah is a very talented actress and I only wish her happiness and success."

Peete and Remini were replaced by Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood when The Talk returned last fall.

The Talk - which airs weedays on CBS – was recently renewed for a third season.
