Ricky Gervais has appeared in a new video supporting Cruelty Free International.
The comedian strokes and cuddles a rabbit in the advertisement promoting the anti-animal testing campaign.
Gervais said that he is "delighted" to front the organisation that aims to put a stop on animals being tested on for various products.
"Animal testing for cosmetics is still allowed in most of the world," he says in the video. "That means thousands of animals can continue to die for the sake of a new shampoo.
"We urgently need a worldwide ban on this cruel and unnecessary suffering."
Cruelty Free International said in a statement: "We are delighted to have the support of Ricky Gervais for this exciting and dynamic organisation.
"The time has come for an international, concerted effort to finally end animal testing for cosmetics."
Ricky Gervais revealed earlier this year that HBO cartoon series The Ricky Gervais Show and Sky1's An Idiot Abroad 3 are well under way.
