Rupert Everett shocked listeners with cheeky remarks on Jonathan Ross' Radio 2 show.

The Shakespeare in Love actor, appearing on the Saturday show to talk about his new book, had to apologise after talking about f******", female genitalia and his sexual conquests with actresses.

Ross said sorry, as did the actor, but the gay star continued to discuss his relationships with famous women including Susan Sarandon and Paula Yates. "I was basically adventurous," he explained. "I think I wanted to try everything."

A BBC spokeswoman insisted only four complaints had been made about the programme and pointed out that apologies had been made.
