Hugh Grant: 'I will never spoil my daughter Tabitha'

Hugh Grant has revealed that he will never spoil his daughter.

The 51-year-old About a Boy and Love Actually actor, who became a father for the first time when former lover Tinglan Hong gave birth to Tabitha last September, said that he doesn't want her to be a "trust-fund" baby.

Grant told The Guardian: "There are few things in life I believe in 100% - but another one is not giving your children money. I see nothing but f**k-ups among my trust-fund friends. It's like 99% f**k-ups. So I would not want to do that to my children, no."

He also said that he would like to instil a few other good qualities in his child as she grows up, saying: "It would all be total hypocrisy, of course, but things like good manners and not being selfish.

"It's just unattractive in a child, I don't like it. And discipline - I do think discipline's important," adding that he had "quite a strict mother".

Grant revealed that he doesn't intend to read any parenting books, saying: "There's a lot of over-parenting," but said that he will be "incredibly strict" on a few issues.

The star recently revealed that he "like[s] his daughter very much" and is "absolutely thrilled to have had her", but admitted that she has "not massively" changed his life yet.
