Police probe Diaz 'assault' case

Los Angeles police are investigating claims by Cameron Diaz that a photographer committed 'assault with a deadly weapon' by allegedly driving a car at the actress yesterday.

Diaz subsequently filed an official police report, stating that she, along with boyfriend Justin Timberlake, gave chase to a man after he emerged from bushes and photographed them outside a friend's house.

According to Police Officer April Harding, "the photographer got into his car and drove toward Diaz and Timberlake". The incident, which took place in Hollywood, forced "Diaz to jump out of the car's way," continued Ms Harding.

"The investigation is in its initial stages," she concluded. There have yet to be any arrests made in the case.
