The actress announced last week that she is divorcing her husband Peter Facinelli after 12 years of marriage.
Garth has now appeared on Access Hollywood Live to talk about her new reality show Jennie Garth: Little Bit Country and explained that moving out of the city was just what she needed while her life was "transitioning".
"My life is a little hectic right now," she said. "My personal life is kind of crazy. So this is what I need and what the girls need right now, so it's perfect."
Garth added that she and the girls are "doing great" and revealed that Facinelli will not appear in Little Bit Country, explaining that she had "no idea" that the end of her marriage would coincide with the show.
However, she suggested that her reaction to the divorce will be a part of the programme, saying: "I will say yes, but I hope that people will tune in and find out."
Jennie Garth: Little Bit Country is due to premiere on CMT on April 20.
