Jolie spends £200,000 on Banksy art

Angelina Jolie has splashed out £200,000 on work by guerrilla artist Banksy at his exhibition in Los Angeles.

The actress bought three items at the show by the British artist who last hit the headlines when he put a model of a Guantanamo Bay prisoner inside a display at Disneyland. He has also been criticised by animal rights campaigners for using a painted, live elephant in the as part of the LA Barely Legal exhibition.

Jolie attended the show's opening with boyfriend Brad Pitt and invested £120,000 on a painting depicting a family having a picnic under an umbrella as 15 apparently hungry Africans watch.

Her second purchase was a white bust with a bleeding bullet wound on its forehead. It went for £40,000 after she reportedly "went nuts" for it. Finally, according to US Star magazine, she paid another £40,000 for a painting of a man being custard pied.
