Wife: Irwin death footage will never air
Television audiences will never see the footage of Steve Irwin's death, his wife said in her first interview since his death.

Terri Irwin talked to ABC News's 20/20 show, and was asked whether the film of the stingray attack would ever be shown.

"It won't be. No. No," she answered definitively. "What purpose would that serve?" She herself had not watched the footage, she added.

The American born woman also revealed the "Crocodile Hunter" was always aware of his mortality. "He'd talk about it often. But it wasn't because of any danger from wildlife," she explained. "That was never a consideration. He just felt life could be dangerous."

Terri had been travelling in southern Australia with the couple's children, aged eight and two, when she heard of Steve's death.

"It was an accident so stupid. It was like running with a pencil. It was not risk he was taking," she continued. "It was just an accident. And I couldn't fall to pieces because the children were there.

"Now I'm going to work really hard at having fun again. I'm Mrs Steve Irwin. I've got a lot to live up to."
