Tom Hanks is America's 'most trusted celebrity', according to a list published in Forbes magazine.

The Forrest Gump actor came ahead of second-placed cook and talk-show host Rachael Ray in the index of 1,500 movie and television stars.

In third place is semi-retired actor Michael J.Fox, best known for his role as Marty McFly in the much-loved Back to the Future trilogy. Rounding up the top five are chat-show hostess Oprah Winfrey and, somewhat surprisingly, the voice of Darth Vader - James Earl Jones.
