Cornell is said to still have "strong" feelings for Keating, and is hoping a move abroad will help her start a new life.
"Fran is still very raw and this week has been very hard. Her feelings for Ronan are still incredibly strong," a source told The Sun.
"She has struggled to move on but is now going to move abroad. New surroundings will give her the chance to start again."
Ronan Keating was rumoured to be planning a permanent move to Australia following the split from his wife, but he later denied the reports.
Ronan and Yvonne, who have children 13-year-old Jack, 11-year-old Marie and 6-year-old Ali, both confirmed their split on Twitter and thanked fans for their "support".
