Asher Keddie has revealed that she feels "pretty special" after receiving a Gold Logie nomination.

The Australian actress, who is best known for her roles in Offspring and Paper Giants: The Birth of Cleo, said that she never used to be a fan of popular awards ceremonies like the Logies but has now changed her mind.

Keddie told the Herald Sun: "I used to think it was the industry peer-voted stuff that was most important, but having won 'Most Popular Actress' last year, I think I've changed my mind.

"I was thrilled to accept that. It was a great show of faith from [the Offspring] audience to embrace a show that is not always easy to digest. I assume that's why I was celebrated then, so I'm quite keen on the popular awards now."

Keddie said of her Gold nomination: "I've never been quite sure what the Gold Logie means - and I'm not being facetious about that. I hope it means people have been enjoying my work in the projects that I have been committed to in the past two years."

Her fellow Gold nominees are Home and Away's Esther Anderson, comedians Adam Hills and Hamish Blake, The Project presenter Carrie Bickmore and breakfast television star Karl Stefanovic.

She added: "I love Hamish Blake, I love Adam Hills - all the nominees have extraordinary talent to offer. And if I'm in that mix, I feel pretty special."

The next series of Offspring premieres on April 18 on Channel Ten.
