Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie have announced that they will be putting on their musical comedy show for their first ever Australian headline show in July.
Clement said of their return to the country: "We are finally returning to Australia. Mostly to apologise."
The pair will stage seven Australian performances, kicking off at the Sydney Opera House on July 5. They will then move on to Brisbane's Entertainment Centre on July 7 and Newcastle on July 10.
Other venues include Wollongong's Entertainment Centre on July 11, Adelaide on July 13, The Plenary in Melbourne on July 14 and Perth's Challenge Stadium on July 18.
When their Australian tour was first reported, McKenzie said that he and Clement hoped to write more songs while on tour together, explaining that the songwriting process is easy because he can "know from the very beginning" if it will be funny or not.
After he won an Academy Award for 'Best Original Song' in the Muppets movie, McKenzie also joked that he would be 'pulling out the Oscar card' while writing new Flight of the Conchords material with Clement.
Tickets to The Flight of the Conchords shows go on sale from April 17.
