"She is a caring mother, she's a loving wife, while at the same time, she is the FIRST LADY!!!!!," Beyoncé wrote about Obama. "No matter the pressure, and the stress of being under the microscope - she's humble, loving and sincere."

Beyoncé went on to cite the First Lady as a role model for her and Jay-Z's newborn daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

"Michelle, thank you so much for every single thing that u do for us - I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to," she noted.

The musician has performed for Michelle and US President Barack Obama on a few occasions in the past, including at their inauguration night Neighborhood Ball in 2009.

Beyoncé's blog about Obama came just over a week after the singer joined Twitter and posted her first ever tweet.

"Hey World, It's B! I'm so excited to invite you to my new http://beyonce.com - we've been working hard, and it's finally ready for you XO," she wrote in her opening message to fans.
