The 'Love on Top' singer spoke about the "miracle" arrival of her and Jay-Z's first child in a new interview with People.
"I felt more powerful than I've ever felt in my life. I felt connected to my body," Beyoncé explained, adding: "I felt like I knew my purpose in the world."
Beyoncé went on to say that the exhilaration of birth came only after months of feeling uncomfortable with her increased pregnancy weight.
"I didn't feel that I looked beautiful during birth, but who does? After being pumped with all those fluids and gaining so much weight... I barely recognised myself," she said. "But after many hours of labour, I could care less about anything but my child. I didn't care how I looked."
The star also credited counting calories and breastfeeding with helping her him slim down after her pregnancy.
"I'm proud that my waist came back so fast. I'm proud of that and happy, but that was mostly from the breastfeeding," Beyoncé recalled.
Beyoncé recently shot down rumours that a surrogate mother gather birth to Blue Ivy, calling those reports "very cruel".
