Daniel Craig has admitted he was the person to break the news of the Bond changeover to Pierce Brosnan.
The new 007 thought the producers of the movies had already told Brosnan that he would no longer be used, when he met him at an awards ceremony early this year.
However, the actor knew nothing of the plans, and was shocked to be told the news in passing.
Craig recalled: "I said: 'Look, this is a possibility, what do you think? I don't know if I gave him much choice, but he said, 'Go for it.' (I can't believe) he didn't hit me."
