Malik said that Murs will be like an "older brother" to the group while they tour the country.

"We've met him a few times, he's a really cool guy and we're looking forward to getting on the road," he told Yahoo UK.

"It'll be cool to have an older guy with us hopefully. A bit like an older brother kind of role."

He also warned Murs that the band have already planned a number of pranks to play on him during the jaunt.

"He should be worried about the pranks cos there are gonna be plenty of them," he joked.

Murs recently spoke of his excitement about the tour, saying that he hopes to convert some of One Direction's fans into his own.

He will appear during tonight's (May 27) Soccer Aid alongside stars including Robbie Williams and Will Ferrell at 6pm on ITV1.
