Mary J Blige's charity 'facing potential financing probe'

By
Mary J Blige
Mary J Blige's charity organisation is in danger of a financial investigation after failing to file its 2010 tax return.

It was earlier reported that the singer's Steve Stoute Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN) - formed in 2007 - was being sued by TD Bank bosses for owing over $250,000 (£159,700) in unpaid loan money.

According to the New York Post, the foundation is now under scrutiny after bosses neglected to complete tax returns or annual state charity registration.

This marks one in a long train of legal woes Blige has faced since launching the charity.

Last year, musicians who performed at a fundraising gala for the star sued with claims that cheques in payment for their services bounced.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations from rapper Jay Z, executives and Gucci, Walmart, and Blige's business partner Stout have all reportedly gone missing - none of the donations have been recovered or listed in annual reports.

Blige has yet to comment on the current state of the FFAWN foundation.
