Jillian Michaels has admitted that watching her partner give birth was tough.

Michaels recently finalised the adoption of her daughter Lukensia in the same week as her partner Heidi Rhoades gave birth to their son Phoenix.

Michaels, who has endometriosis, has now admitted that she found it difficult that she couldn't help Rhoades during labour.

"The whole thing about Phoenix being born was hard," she told People. "Watching her was awful.

"You can't relieve the person. You can't do it for them. You just have to stand there and watch."

However, Rhoades praised Michaels, saying: "Because I had the C-section, she had to jump in and do everything with Phoenix. She's an amazing mum."

Michaels recently admitted that the adoption process was not "simple".
