Monty Python star Terry Jones has been diagnosed with bowel cancer, according to a report today.
The comedian is currently staying at a private hospital in London and will have surgery within days. Fortunately, doctors believe that they have caught the disease in its early stages.
Terry's agent Jodi Shield told The Mirror: "He is having a routine exploratory operation in the next few days. His surgeon is fairly confident - they think they've got it early enough. He's in great spirits. We're having to make him stop working."
Python co-star Carol Cleveland added: "I'm just praying he is going to be fine. Terry is a strong Welshman - I'm confident he'll beat it."
