Marilyn Monroe will be made into a hologram for an upcoming concert, it has been reported.

The legendary film star, who would have been 86 years old today (June 1), is the latest deceased celebrity to have been resurrected via the technology.

Monroe will be revived for a live concert set to take place sometime this year. The show, which is tentatively being called Virtual Marilyn Live - A Musical Celebration of the Birth of the Pop Icon will feature live performers singing alongside Monroe's hologram.

Becky Altringer, the co-founder of Digicon Media, told The Hollywood Reporter that the concert will use the same technology that brought Shakur back to life.

She added that she hopes to relaunch Monroe's career as "a performer, spokesperson, cultural pundit and computer avatar".

Rapper Tupac Shakur famously took to the stage at the Coachella music festival in April to perform with Dre and Snoop Dogg.
