Gwyneth Paltrow defends use of racial term in tweet

By
Gwyneth Paltrow has been criticised for including a racially-offensive term in a recent tweet.

The Avengers actress posted an image of herself onstage with Jay-Z and Kanye West at their Paris concert over the weekend, along with the caption: "Ni**as in paris for real."

The caption was in reference to West and Jay-Z's hit song of the same name, but Paltrow has come under fire from some of her followers.

Paltrow attempted to blunt the condemnations by insisting that the original post was not inappropriate.

"Hold up. It's the title of the song," she wrote to one fan who had called her post into question.

The star has not commented further as of yet.

Jay-Z and West have also offered no response to Paltrow's tweets.
