Taylor Swift, John Mayer 'have uncomfortable run-in at restaurant'

By
Taylor Swift and John Mayer are alleged to have had an uncomfortable run-in at a West Hollywood restaurant.

The former couple have received increased media coverage this week because of a new interview with Mayer, where he criticised the hit song Swift wrote about their split.

Mayer charged that including details of their romance in 'Dear John' was a "lousy thing [for Swift] to do". He also accused Swift of "cheap songwriting" and "abusing [her] talent" by trashing her ex-boyfriends.

Swift apparently came close to a confrontation with Mayer at Tower Bar, when she noticed her former beau was dining nearby as she was being seated.

An eye-witness told Page Six: "Taylor very visibly - in front of the entire restaurant - demanded to be moved to the other side.

"The bar's usually an oasis of calm and privacy for celebrities and power players, but this was drama central."

The pair were apparently able to avoid speaking and both later left without any altercation.

Swift and Mayer dated between late 2009 and June 2010.
