The Scottish singer-songwriter said that she likes to follow the latest cars, and even owns a "collection" including a Ferrari 458.
"I like all cars, it's a sad hobby of mine," she told BBC Breakfast. "I know all the stats and figures of all the cars coming out.
"I'm not such a fan of Formula 1, I just like cars. I'm like Jeremy Clarkson!"
When asked what cars she owns, she said: "I have a modest collection. I have a Ferrari 458, which shocks a lot of people. I think they expect an old man to come out of it!
"I've never driven it at the speed it can achieve thankfully, or I'd be in lot of trouble."
She added: "I'd like to get a racing licence. I've done a few track days, I get quite exhilarated."
Amy Macdonald's third studio album Life in a Beautiful Light is released in the UK today (June 11).
She will perform at this summer's BT London Live event at Hyde Park alongside the likes of Tom Jones and McFly.
