Lohan was briefly hospitalised on Friday (June 8) after she hit an 18-wheeler truck with her rental Porsche. The truck driver later claimed that the actress had tried to bribe him to keep the accident quiet, but he rejected the offer.
TMZ now reports that the Mean Girls star told police she was not driving the Porsche on the Pacific Coast Highway.
While the star was in hospital, she reportedly told visiting police officers that she was a passenger in the car, and that her assistant was driving. However, her assistant later told police that it was in fact Lohan who was in control of the vehicle.
Lohan's alleged false information may end up violating her probation rules in relation to her previous shoplifting case, which could lead to the possibility of further jail time.
The crash victim has since hired a lawyer over the incident for any potential case against the actress.
