The family of rock legend Jimi Hendrix are threatening legal action over the sale of some of his most iconic songs.
A company owned by his family have released a statement saying that they will prove that the titles and rights to the famous tracks 'Voodoo Chile' and 'Purple Haze' are legally owned by them.
The songs were auctioned on Thursday as part of the estate of Hendrix manager Michael Jeffery.
According to the BBC, a spokesman for the Hendrix company said, "Whoever bought this bought themselves the right ot be litigant. It will be contested instantly."
The Chicago-based auction house who sold the songs has refused to comment.
