Hammond feels "down" following crash

A friend of the Top Gear host claims that he is feeling "down" after realising how lucky he was to escape death.
"The euphoria of surviving seems to be replaced by the shocking realisation of how close he came to death," the pal explained. "He's putting on a cheery face but in reality he has got the black dog - he's rather down."
Fellow host James May also revealed that Hammond has suffered from memory lapses since the accident, though doctors expect the situation to improve over time.
"He's not better - even with the best will in the world - but his prognosis is very good," James added. "We just have to wait."
