Madonna defended by baby's father

The father of Madonna's Malawian baby has insisted that their adoption agreement still stands.

Yohane Banda begged the singer not to give up her fight to keep his 13-month-old son as he spoke through an interpreter outside his sister's home.

"Madonna, whatever is happening, please be strong and do not give up the fight," he pleaded. "My David will be a good son to you."

He added: "I gave David away and he now belongs to Madonna."
