The New York Giants star told Parade that he was surprised by how much of an impact his daughter had on him when she was born last year.
"I don't think you can truly know how it's going to change your life or how you're going to feel," he said.
"You love your child and just have so many emotions, like coming home at the end of every day and right when I walk in the door I immediately drop everything and look for her, hoping that she's not taking a nap or sleeping. That you get to run around and play with her a little bit. That's one of the most exciting things."
Manning, who joked that he is "pretty good" at changing diapers, continued: "It gives you perspective on your own parents. The commitments and the way it changes your life. How much you give up to take care of your child.
"You don't feel like you're giving up anything because it's what you want to do. It's been such a blessing and I've had so much fun being a parent."
Manning also revealed that he would like to expand his family, saying: "Yeah, that's in the future plans. We haven't quite timed it all out but we definitely want to have more kids down the road."
Manning hosted an edition of Saturday Night Live last month, saying at the time that he "went in open-minded" and does not mind "making fun" of himself.
