Kardashian opened up about her 72-day marriage on Oprah's Next Chapter and admitted that the split has been very hard on her and Humphries.
"He's a good person. I will always have a place in my heart for him. It just wasn't for me. You know in your heart," she told Oprah Winfrey. "For anyone I hurt, I'm truly sorry, I don't wish pain on anyone, but the person I am because of that crazy experience, I wouldn't change it for the world."
She continued: "I loved him, obviously it hurt him, and it hurt me too. It was embarrassing, I don't want to call it a mistake, it was a lesson."
Kardashian also told Winfrey that she knew early on that her and Humphries's marriage couldn't last.
"I think when people first meet, everything is great in the beginning. But I didn't spend more than a whole week with my ex before we married," she said.
"When we moved in together, I saw how our relationship was… I don't want to get into the small things, but once we moved in, I knew he was not the one."
Kardashian also suggested on Oprah's Next Chapter that she has matured since splitting with Humphries last year.
"I'm totally growing up. A lot of my friends, the people that I love to just sit and talk to and spend my time with, are wiser, a little bit older than me," she explained.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is currently dating rapper Kanye West.
