Russell Crowe was shocked to be disregarded by his teenage co-star while filming his new movie.
Crowe's character in A Good Year is portrayed as a child by Freddie Highmore star of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Finding Neverland. Crowe intended to spend some time with the 14-year-old in order to unify their performances. However, Highmore had other ideas.
"I went up to him on the first day he arrived," Crowe recalls. "(I) said, 'G'day Freddie, I'm Russell. Seeing as you're playing me as a young man, if you want to spend time hanging out, we'll get to know each other and discuss it.' And he goes, 'Oh, no, I don't think I'll have time for that.'"
