An informant close to the case told Hollywood Life that official proceedings will get under way in Humphries's home state of Minnesota within days.
Humphries is apparently planning to take the stand first, with Kardashian possibly testifying later in the trial.
"Depositions are starting this week. It's in motion," the source disclosed.
Kardashian opened up about her divorce on Oprah's Next Chapter at the weekend, insisting that she has no ill will towards Humphries.
"He's a good person. I will always have a place in my heart for him. It just wasn't for me. You know in your heart," she told Oprah Winfrey.
The Humphries insider rejected the sincerity of those comments and claimed that Kardashian was simply trying to sway public opinion in her favour.
"They [Kim and Kris] haven't spoken since she visited him in Minnesota, so it's hard to believe she loves somebody and cares about him when she's never reached out and apologised in private," the source suggested.
Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries last fall after only 72 days of marriage.
