Some of Alex James's cheese ranges have been withdrawn from ASDA.

Six of the Blur bassist's nine special cheeses have been dropped from the supermarket chain, reports the Daily Star.

An ASDA spokesperson said of the cheeses: "Clearly some of them were ahead of their time."

The axed flavours include cheddar with salad cream, ketchup, tomato and tikka masala. His sweet chilli and spring onion ranges are still available.

James has stated that he is now working on a new cheese flavour, described as "a real crowd-pleaser".

Blur performed and released two brand new singles 'The Puritan' and 'Under the Westway' yesterday.

Alex James recently hinted that Blur may continue beyond their upcoming Hyde Park Olympics gig.
