The actress, who welcomed her son Kez Sunday with partner Ime Udoka last year, told Essence that she has "never seen a marriage work".
Long, who also has a 10-year old son called Massai from a previous relationship, went on to say: "Marriage is not a priority for me.
"I'm not saying I'll never do it; it's just not where we are as a family."
However, Long admitted that she has been criticised for her decision not to wed, saying: "I'll be at home with my man, having a perfectly loving time, and I'll see all these comments on some site about how wrong I am for not being married. I don't feel less loved or loving because I'm not married."
Long also revealed that she is now pleased with her relationship with Massai's father, explaining that they have had "the most challenging times" in the past.
"But we've arrived at a place where I can truly say he's not a baby daddy, he's my friend, finally," she said. "He is an amazing father."
