Spears and Federline in child custody battle

A battle is looming between Britney Spears and estranged husband Kevin Federline for custody of their two children.

Federline, currently trying to launch a rap career, filed court papers in Los Angeles on Wednesday that expressed his intention to have sole custody of their young sons - just one day after Spears filed for divorce.

A spokesman for Federline commented: "Kevin is prepared to go the distance in order to do what he feels is necessary to protect and safeguard the children and will not be intimidated or dissuaded from pursuit of those goals."

When Spears filed for divorce due to 'irreconcilable differences' on Tuesday, she stated her intention to have both physical and legal custody of their children.
