Prince William, Kate Middleton kiss most memorable of last ten years

Prince William and Kate Middleton's kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace has been named as the most memorable celebrity smooch of the last ten years.

The royal couple's intimate moment on their wedding day in April 2011 picked up 63% of the vote in a poll launched by romantic social network Zoosk to celebrate National Kissing Day (July 6).

Madonna's girl-on-girl kiss with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards came second on 24%, followed by Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen's snog at MTV's 2007 Movie Awards ceremony with 8%.

David Walliams kissing the hand of Simon Cowell on this year's Britain's Got Talent was voted the top reality TV kiss with 51%, beating Natalie Cassidy's clinch with Frankie Cocozza in Celebrity Big Brother (17%) and the moment TOWIE's James 'Arg' Argent and Gemma Collins locked lips, which picked up 14% of the vote.

Other surveys carried out for National Kissing Day have revealed that 18- to 24-year-olds send four virtual kisses per day - twice the national average - in text messages.

It was also discovered that only 20% of Britons receive real kisses from the people they send 'x's to.
