Cowell: I want to sign Kate Moss

Simon Cowell has said he wants to sign Kate Moss to a record contract - even though she has never proven her singing ability.

The pop mogul and X Factor judge's admission comes after Moss appeared live alongside singer and boyfriend Pete Doherty at a gig in Dublin.

"I would like to offer Kate Moss a recording contract, whether she can sing or not," he told the Daily Mirror. "The thing about Kate is that she's a star - it's the 'Kate factor'.

"People attach themselves to her and instantly become interesting."

However, Cowell insisted he would not go anywhere near Doherty himself. "There's no way I would take him on," commented the manager. "I doubt he'd turn up for anything."

The paper said fans at the Dublin concert had praised Moss's vocal talent. "She has a really good voice," one said. "She got a big cheer."
