The America's Got Talent judge, who broke down while hosting his SiriusXM radio show on Tuesday (July 17), confessed that he is having a difficult time after the death of his dog.
"I didn't want to cry on the air, but I kind of did," Stern told Access Hollywood.
"I love my dog and that was really rough. I'm having a hard time with it and my wife is having an even harder time and we're both just devastated.
"I'm literally devastated about it. Anyone who has a dog understands and anyone who doesn't [have a dog] doesn't understand, and that's the way it goes."
Stern's wife Beth Ostrosky recently revealed that her husband has a variety of secret skills, including his talents with a guitar.
America's Got Talent airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
