Katherine became legal guardian to Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket following Michael's death in June 2009. However, Michael's nephew TJ Jackson recently made a move to replace her following her continued absence from the family home, and was awarded temporary guardianship of the children earlier today (July 25).
The 82-year-old confirmed that she intends to return to LA from Arizona, telling ABC News in a pre-prepared statement: "I am devastated that while I've been away, my grandchildren have been taken away from me, and I'm coming home.
"There are rumours going around about me that I have been kidnapped. I am here today to let everybody to know that I am good and fine. My children would never do anything to me like that."
Katherine also claimed that the evidence in the hearing which granted TJ Jackson temporary custody of Michael's children was "based on a bunch of lies" and argued that she had not contacted the children because she "didn't want to have any phone calls" during her stay at the Miraval Resort & Spa in Tucson.
The Jackson family matriarch was reported missing by one of her nephews on Saturday (July 21), but contacted police the following day to say that she was "fine and with a family member".
Sandra Ribera, who is one of Katherine Jackson's attorneys, confirmed that her client had telephoned Michael's children "very late yesterday evening", adding: "[The children] are looking forward to being reunited with their grandmother very soon."
The validity of Michael Jackson's will has recently been questioned by some of his siblings.
