The sporting stars were joined by Nancy Dell'Olio and Lady Victoria Hervey, both in daring silver gowns, Christopher Lee, Bob Geldof and Caprice at the ball which was raising money and awareness for the Muhammad Ali Center and research into Parkinson's.
Other celebrities who turned out to celebrate the 70-year-old former heavyweight boxing world champion included brother and former boxer Ramin Ali, Meredith Ostrom, Russian boxer and former boyfriend of Hayden Panettiere Wladimir Klitschko, and US actress Rosario Dawson.
Racing driver Hamilton tweeted photos of Ali during the ceremony as the pair shared the same table.
It is rumoured that Ali will take part in the Olympics opening ceremony tomorrow (July 27).
