The comedian was ordered last week to pay $500 and complete 20 hours of community service as his sentence for criminally damaging a paparazzo's phone in New Orleans.

Brand has now told WENN that he views the sentence as a chance to help those in need.
"I don't know what their format of community service is, but community service, that doesn't seem like a punishment. That seems like a duty," he explained.
Brand continued: "We are our community. Service is an honour. I'll be happy to do it."
The Brand X host was also quizzed on the exact kind of community service he will take part in.
"What will I be doing? I don't know. Tidying up or something probably," he quipped.
His series Brand X was recently renewed along with the critically acclaimed Louie by FX.
