Adlington, who placed third in the 400m freestyle on Sunday (July 29), was pictured showing off her flashy Union Jack nails as she posed for photographs holding up her bronze medal.
According to the Daily Mail, Adlington had paid a visit to Sophy Robson, the self-proclaimed "flyest nail artist" who has teamed up with P&G to provide competing athletes with nail services at the Olympic Village in Stratford.
Robson said: "I have also become fascinated by some of the unique designs on some of the country's flags and how I could translate them on to a nail surface. Seeing them come to life on the Athletes and visitors at the Olympic Village makes me too proud for words."
She has designed 24 different nail patterns for countries that are competing in London 2012.
The team - named 'NailPorn' - have become an Olympic sensation, and famous faces like Boris Johnson, Serena and Venus Williams and One Direction have expressed an interest in the beauty service.
Lily Allen also tweeted to find out where she could go to get her nails done.
Robson, who is said to be overwhelmed by the interest in her business, replied: "If @lillyrosecooper tweets her nails from my salon today I think my phone might explode."
