Lewis Black is to headline his own one-man show on Broadway.

The Daily Show star will bring his Running on Empty show to the Richard Rodgers Theatre in October, producers told The AP.

Black said of his new show: "Why Broadway? It's close to my apartment, just blocks away, and frankly I'm too tired to go anywhere else.

"These guys are exhausting me. Democrats. Republicans. The Tea Party. Just shut up. Enough is enough."

The comic previously performed on the New York stage with his Black on Broadway show in 2004 and 2006's The Carnegie Hall Performance.

Running on Empty will run from October 9 through October 14, with tickets going on sale on August 6.

Black has made over 300 appearances on The Daily Show over the last 16 years. He has also guest starred in The Shield and The Big Bang Theory.
