Sienna Miller has opened up about her experience of motherhood.

The actress, who welcomed her first child with Tom Sturridge last month, spoke about her baby during a telephone interview for HBO's Television Critics Association summer tour session, according to Parade.

"She's sleeping upstairs," Miller said of daughter Marlow when asked how the baby was doing. "I'm good though my brain doesn't work."

Miller plays Tippi Hedren in HBO's upcoming biopic The Girl, which tells the story of Alfred Hitchcock's obsession with the Birds actress.

Hedren said of the legendary director during HBO's TCA panel: "People have said, 'Was he in love with you?' I said, 'No he wasn't. When you love someone you treat them well'.

"I think we're dealing with a mind here that is incomprehensible and I certainly am not capable of discerning what is going through his mind or why."

The Girl premieres on HBO on October 20 in the US.
