As part of the role, Corden has to frequently bash into a number of objects, deliberately fall over and smack himself in the head with a dustbin lid.
Despite the physical role having taken its toll on the Gavin & Stacey creator, he has reportedly refused to complain and remains dedicated to the show.
The director of the show Cal McCrystal praised Corden for his abilities in theatre acting, stating: "For someone who has done so much television work, there's a really surprising fearlessness about James.
"Usually they are scared to throw themselves about, and I think that when he read the script, it was probably, 'Crikey, this is a big ask'. And the funnyman has made a huge physical transformation too."
Corden recently won a prestigious 'Best Actor' Tony Award for the show.
